Fr. John TrigilioA local priest who also happens to be a veteran Catholic radio and TV broadcaster will keynote the upcoming benefit dinner for Holy Family Radio on April 24.  Father John Trigilio Jr., a priest of the Diocese of Harrisburg and EWTN veteran will speak at that gala event that benefits the local non-profit Catholic radio apostolate.

Bishop Ronald W. Gainer will offer prayers and remarks at the event which will be held at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel. Tom Russell of CBS21 will emcee the evening, which begins at 6 p.m. with a meet and greet, the popular silent auction, live music and a cash bar.  Dinner begins at 7 p.m. 

Fr. Trigilio has hosted both television and radio programs for EWTN, including Web of Faith, Council of Faith, Crash Course in Catholicism, Crash Course on Saints and Crash Course on John Paul II. He is a monthly guest host on Catholic Answers Live Radio and is a former co-host of the local program, In the News, on Holy Family Radio AM720.

Fr. Trigilio has also co-authored with Fr. Ken Brighenti several books, including Catholicism for Dummies, Women in The Bible for Dummies, John Paul II for Dummies, Saints for Dummies, Catholic Mass for Dummies, Everything Bible Book and the Catholicism Answer Book. He is a contributor of articles to Homiletic & Pastoral Review as well as The Priest Magazine. He is also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and preaches retreats.  

Fr. Trigilio has served as the Director of Pastoral Formation, Assistant Professor, formation advisor and spiritual director at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD, since 2017. Prior to that he served in several pastoral assignments in the Diocese of Harrisburg.

The benefit Dinner is one the major fundraising events for Holy Family Radio, AM 720 WHYF. The station is the only Catholic radio station in the Diocese of Harrisburg. Ticket prices for the dinner are $100 per person. A table of eight with a patron listing and website acknowledgement is $1,200.
